“I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.” -1 Corinthians 1:10 NLT
Racism, a pervasive and destructive force, can be understood as a spiritual stronghold—a fortified belief system that hinders spiritual growth and perpetuates injustice. It operates on a deep level, influencing not only individual attitudes but also societal structures and institutions.
At its core, racism is rooted in fear and ignorance. It stems from a distorted view of humanity, one that assigns value based on superficial characteristics like skin color. This distorted perception leads to prejudice, discrimination, and ultimately, oppression.
As a spiritual stronghold, racism hinders our ability to connect with God and with each other. It creates divisions, fosters resentment, and perpetuates cycles of violence. It blinds us to the inherent worth and dignity of every human being, regardless of race or ethnicity.

To dismantle this stronghold, we must confront it on both a personal and societal level. This requires a willingness to examine our own biases, to listen to the experiences of others, and to engage in honest and open dialogue. It also requires a commitment to dismantling systemic racism and working towards a more just and equitable society.
By addressing racism as a spiritual issue, we can begin to break down the barriers that divide us and cultivate a more compassionate and inclusive world.
