Dynamic Leadership Series Part 3

In this series we have been examining the life of Joseph in the book of Genesis. Through years of abuse, mistreatment, and loneliness he held firm to his beliefs and displayed a radical sense of optimism. How? Joseph’s faith was in the power of God. All leaders go through trials. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by hardship right now, use the prayer below to give your concerns over the the Lord:

God I need You. My heart is weary. Help me to see what is on the other side of this trial. Help me to focus on how I am becoming wiser and more mature. God show me how to embrace what You have allowed in my life, even though I would have never chosen this for myself. You are the Vine and I am just a branch (John 15:1). I want to connect more deeply with You. I need Your strength. I need Your power. I need Your joy. Give me the discipline to see how You are blessing me and many others through this pain. Remind me that the best leaders are those whose character has been developed through overcoming, not just enduring, hardship and pain. Give me a sense of radical optimism right now as I trust in Your faithfulness. In Your name, Amen.

“Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. ³ Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, ⁴ and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, ⁵ and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
